Dear impressive squash’s from Aldi.

So, since October 31st I have felt a little brooding. I didn’t ‘take part’ in Halloween this year.

I have recently started exploring the world of twitter, and social media in general; before this past month I hadn’t really stepped into social media to such an extent, so its been a little overwhelming.

I think the problem comes down to the thousands, and I mean thousands of pumpkin picking ceremonies I have seen taking place. Not only this, also the millions of amazingly thought out Halloween baby costumes people have. Don’t get me wrong I am so jealous, especially since I am massively unorganized and it is my fault we did not partake.

I am without a doubt the most unorganized, flippant and chaotic person I know. So, like getting off a train at the stop after the stop you wanted; I bypassed Halloween. I saw the pumpkins in Morrison’s, I was impressed with the selection of squashes at Aldi one day. Never did I stop to get one.

”maybe next week I will buy one, don’t want it to go off.”

Why would it go off?! For piss sake! Its a Bloody pumpkin! This is how my brain seems to work though. I leave everything in life to the last possible moment. I can’t recall ever handing in an assignment during my education, early; even when I was at university when I was Twenty-five. I used to start off with every intention of being on time, productive and organised; only to find months later, I now own sixty empty folders and one full one.

I digress, it got to Halloween and I realised my mistake. All the pumpkins had gone and the only baby outfits left were, the ones nobody wanted. So, I passive aggressively wrote a note on the door asking people not to wake my baby up, and spent the night in a grump, sulking around the house.

How stupid is this really. Its a massive ‘first world problem’, there are people out there who aren’t doing Halloween because they can’t or really couldn’t care less, because they have more important things to worry about.

I think to be honest I just felt bad that I had missed a first. I wont ever get it back but, it is just Halloween.

I love Halloween, it is my favorite time of year; I am a massive autumn fan in general. Now as a new parent to a little baby, I do get that Halloween and Bonfire night are not the best things ever. They generate a lot of noise, if I have learnt one thing as a mum, it is that noise is bad. We spend at least 7 hours a day tip toeing around the house, silently swearing at things that make noise (like the dog or that one pissing floorboard that just wont shut up).

Perhaps to ensure I don’t miss Christmas, I will start putting my Christmas tree up now, maybe then it could possibly be up for Christmas.

I never got round to getting a costume for O, I didn’t think about it until the last minute! We did go pumpkin picking, but we did have to work hard to find good pumpkins because we left it so late! I did go to primark the other day to get christmas jumpers though! I will be prepared for my favourite time of year 😂 x
